Chris Brooks is the Senior Manager of the Haematology Research program at Alfred Health, overseeing a trial portfolio of over 100 studies, ranging from first in human to complex cell and gene therapies. With over 25 years experience in the public and private sectors, her specialist knowledge spans both hematologic malignancies and solid tumours, initiating nurse led research and facilitating increased accessibility to trial treatments for regional patients Chris is is a proven compassionate, patient centred leader, who’s career has evolved from caring for cancer patients and learning about the complexities of cancer biology, to a focus on translational research and delivering therapies that can improve patient outcomes. As a leader in Oncology/Haematology Research for The Alfred, she is intimately involved in advancing cancer treatments through innovative research and clinical trials. Her daily work includes the leadership and management of interdisciplinary collaborations, supporting and guiding research teams toward operationalising complex, impactful clinical trials. Recent work includes writing and initiating a dedicated mentorship program for emerging nursing and cancer clinical trial research leaders across the Alfred Cancer Program for The Alfred. Chris has recently completed her MBA and is actively engaged in in a range of special interest groups including the AGITG and cross service committees supporting organisational clinical trial accreditation.
