Dawn Furey is a clinical operations industry leader focusing on delivering continuous improvement and innovation across clinical trials through process optimization and lean six sigma methodologies.
Dawn has had a multi-faceted career that started at Merck as a clinical trial manager and evolved into managing European clinical trial operations and the expansion of the European clinical trial footprint. From there, she became Head of Global Operations, where she and her team optimized the study start up process and cut Clinical Trial Research Agreement cycle times by 50% within the first year.
Dawn joined Janssen/Johnson & Johnson as the VP of Portfolio Delivery Operations in 2017 where she harmonized clinical trial management across all six of their therapeutic areas of focus, scaled growth of >150%, and created a team aligned with a “one team” approach to ensure fungibility of resources and continuous career progression. In 2020, she took an assignment as the Operational Lead for Janssen with the governmental Operation Warp Speed team where they were able to achieve study start up in record breaking times and then enrolled 45,000 participants in the COVID-19 Vaccine development in just 8 weeks.
In 2021, Dawn joined Circuit Clinical as their Chief Clinical Operations Officer. Within her role, she focuses on bringing clinical trials as a care option to under-represented patients and physicians within community healthcare networks. Dawn and her team at Circuit are providing innovative solutions, including trained clinical teams and quality oversight, to FQHCs and community physicians to become researchers in clinical trials. In addition, Circuit provides concierge patient screening services through MD PreScreen and offers sites the opportunity to have patients rate their site experience through TrialJourney.com – an innovative patient experience platform.
One of Dawn’s driving beliefs is that significant accomplishments are often achieved by those who don’t know how big the mountain is that they are about to climb!
