Diana L. Foster, Ph.D., is the CEO and Chief Diversity Officer for TOTAL Diversity Clinical Trial Management, a full-service Diversity Organization whose mission is to enhance diversity and inclusion in clinical research trials. Foster also served as the Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Society of Clinical Research Sites (SCRS) originating programs such as the Global Impact Partner Programs and many other industry supported initiatives.
Foster is a thought-leader and sought-after expert in diversity and clinical site best practices. She is the author of Diversity Site Assessment Tool and has published numerous research papers on the topic. Over the past two decades, she has addressed audiences across the world, published multiple papers and articles, and written five authoritative industry books including Global Issues in Patient Recruitment and Retention. Most recently, Foster and Dr. Jerome Adams, former US Surgeon General and the Chairman of the Board for TOTAL Diversity wrote and published a book titled, Diversity in Clinical Trials: Best Practices and Perspectives for Industry and Clinical Research Sites.
Foster holds a Ph.D. in Research Theory and Statistics from Texas Woman’s University. She previously was a partner in Metroplex Clinical Research Center, a multispecialty research site, founder of D. Anderson and Company, a global centralized recruitment firm, and Rheumatology Research International (RRI) one of the first Site Management Organizations.
Her personal honors include recognition by the Global EXEC Women’s International Council as a 2009 International Woman of Influence, being named a finalist for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in 2008, and an induction into the 2006 PharmaVOICE “100 Most Inspiring People in the Life-Sciences Industry.” She is among accomplished women around the globe who are changing the way international clinical trials are conducted.
