Johnny Walker is a seasoned professional with over 24 years of experience in clinical research. His journey began in 1995 as a Research Coordinator and later led him to Utah Cancer Specialists, where he became Director of Research in a community practice setting in 2006. Under his leadership, the program has grown from 2 employees and 7 studies to managing 45-55 industry-based trials, extending across all eleven Utah Cancer Specialists locations within a 100-mile radius, significantly increasing patient access to innovative therapies.
Johnny spearheaded the development of Phase I research, transitioning it from a part-time effort to a fully-fledged freestanding facility. He also established a community-focused T cell engager and antibody-drug conjugates research arm with both outpatient and inpatient capabilities. Additionally, he led the creation of a specialized hematologic malignancy clinic, advancing care for patients with blood cancers.
Currently, Johnny is advancing radioligand therapy/theranostic research, with plans to integrate Phase I capabilities within two years. Known for his strategic vision and collaborative approach, Johnny remains dedicated to pushing the boundaries of clinical research to improve patient outcomes.
