Perla Nunes Consulting

Ms. Nunes, originally from Ecuador, brings over 30 years of research experience. She began her career at Hoffmann-LaRoche in Nutley, NJ, working in drug discovery. In North Carolina, she contributed to the Department of General Surgery Research at the Cannon Research Center of Atrium Health, focusing on oncology and immunology research in both preclinical and clinical settings. From 2009 to 2020, Ms. Nunes worked at Duke University’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI), where she led efforts in community engagement, outreach, recruitment, and retention of diverse populations for clinical research studies.
In 2020, Ms. Nunes joined Javara, an Integrated Research Organization (IRO), where she developed and implemented community outreach strategies for healthcare partners, with a focus on raising awareness and increasing the participation of minority populations in clinical research. In 2021, she transitioned to Greater Gift as Director of Outreach, a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing awareness of clinical research, particularly among underrepresented communities.
