Ângela Papa is Executive Director and Global Study Start-Up (SSU) Lead at PPD, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, working towards setting the global vision and strategic direction for start-up operations. With more than 20 years of experience in clinical research and operational excellence, she leads international teams to drive process integration, improve cycle times, and accelerate site activation across global studies.
Previously, Ângela served as Director of Global Operational Excellence, where she led transformation initiatives in digitization, automation, and continuous improvement, and as Country Head for Portugal oversaw full clinical trial delivery, expanding operations from a small local team to a leading regional organization.
A PharmD and MSc in Humanitarian Medicine and Public Health, Ângela is also a certified EUPATI Fellow and patient advocate, serving on the EUPATI Portuguese Platform Board.
