Dr. Anthony Avornyo is the Founder and Lead Principal Investigator of Ameli-BioGroup, a physician-led clinical research site established with the core intention of delivering high-quality, ethically grounded, and patient-centered clinical trials. With many years of experience in clinical research, Dr. Avornyo has led and overseen numerous studies across multiple therapeutic areas, building a strong reputation for regulatory excellence, operational efficiency, and data integrity.

Trained in Emergency Medicine with a focus on Infectious Diseases, Tropical Medicine, and Aviation Medicine, Dr. Avornyo brings a broad and globally informed clinical perspective to research leadership. He was deployed to West Africa during the Ebola crisis, where he served on the frontline response efforts. In recognition of his service, he was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Ebola Medal for Service in West Africa.

Ameli-BioGroup was founded on the principle that clinical research should be physician-led — guided by clinicians who understand patient care firsthand and prioritize safety, scientific rigor, and meaningful participant engagement. Under his leadership, the site maintains strong sponsor partnerships while ensuring trials are conducted to the highest ICH-GCP and regulatory standards.
Dr. Avornyo is deeply committed to expanding the global reach of clinical research to include underrepresented countries and communities that have historically had limited access to clinical trials. His mission is to help build a more inclusive and diverse global research landscape — advancing this goal one step at a time by strengthening local research infrastructure and capacity.
