He earned his medical degree from Otago Medical School in 2002 and has practiced in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Based in Auckland New Zealand, Barney enjoys a fulfilling family life with his wife, Penny and three children. Beyond his professional endeavours, he has played a key role in launching several successful businesses. A former junior representative basketball player for New Zealand, he enjoys playing many sports and keeping fit and active.
