Eugenia (Genie) Hong is a registered pharmacist working as a Clinical Trials Pharmacy Manager with extensive knowledge and experience in clinical research. She was a committee member of the Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia (SHPA) Committee of Specialty Practice in Investigational Drugs from 2007 to 2017 then elected as a leadership committee member of the SHPA Special Practice Clinical Trials Interest Group in 2017 and has been working as a committee member since then. She is an author of the SHPA Standard of Practice for Pharmacy Investigational Drugs Services in Australia. Genie has facilitated many SHPA Clinical Trials Seminars and presented at numerous national and international clinical trials seminars and conferences. She has also been working as the Clinical Trials Pharmacy manager at the Royal Melbourne Hospital since 2006. Her special interests are GMO medications and finance aspects of running a clinical trials pharmacy business unit. She has also developed the RMH Clinical Trials Pharmacy Finance Application and presented at a SHPA Webinar in 2023. Possessing an open and collaborative style of management and leadership; Genie strives to work together and promotes positive patient outcomes. Her current role has enabled her to explore new opportunities and enhance her professional knowledge within the field of clinical trials and research as part of her continuing career development. Genie’s key strengths lie in the development of clinical practice standards, working with GMO medicines and in developing strategic and tactical plans for ongoing clinical trial services delivery which lead to a positive outcome.
