Dr Khaled Ahmed is a Clinical Site Director and Diversity Ambassador at FutureMeds, a global SMO that provides innovative solutions for clinical trials. Dr Ahmed holds a PhD in Cancer Epidemiology from the University of Birmingham, and over 15 years of experience in lecturing, designing, managing, and executing global clinical trials across different indications and settings.
For every trial within Dr Ahmed’s site he has succeeded to screen a participant within 24 hours of sponsor green light and randomised a participant within a week. 1 in 5 participants Dr Ahmed’s team screen come from an ethnic minority background and 1 in 4 randomised come from a diverse group. Dr Ahmed’s Diversity work was recognized as finalist for the SCRS Diversity Award 2024. Dr Ahmed’s site is top recruiter globally for many indications and have been the first to open to recruitment globally for many therapy areas.
Dr Ahmed leads a multidisciplinary team and collaborates with clients across the globe, delivering high-quality results within timelines and budgets. Dr Ahmed is passionate about research and championing for recruiting diverse populations within clinical trials. He has extensive experience in running complex DCTs and developing culturally adapted PRO instruments. Dr Ahmed has published and reviewed multiple protocols and publications using the SPIRIT and CONSORT checklists. He is driven by the mission of advancing science and improving patient outcomes. Having a strong academic background he has published many papers within many different disease areas and continues to add to high impact scientific papers.
