With over 13 years of industry experience, Dr. Kristen Ballesteros is a results-oriented feasibility strategist and Director of Strategic Feasibility for Hematology/Oncology at PPD, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific. Her career provides a unique 360-degree view of clinical trial site selection, blending high-level corporate strategy with hands-on, site-level business development.
From her vantage point at one of the world’s leading CROs, Dr. Ballesteros has a deep understanding of how opportunities are awarded. She leads the development of global site identification strategies, analyzes data to drive successful study enrollment, and develops operational strategy presentations for sponsor bid defenses to win new business. She is a feasibility relationship owner for large pharmaceutical partnerships and knows precisely what sponsors and CROs require when evaluating sites.
Crucially, Dr. Ballesteros has direct experience executing these strategies at the site level. She was responsible for building a working business plan and finding new study opportunities. She successfully developed relationships with sponsors and CROs through conference attendance and professional social media and served as the primary point of contact for feasibility, contract and budget negotiations, and site initiation visits.
As a subject matter expert in data-driven DEI and patient recruitment, Dr. Ballesteros also provides sites with tools to showcase their unique strengths in patient access.
