Laura Falcone, an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN), is a consultant with extensive clinical and operational expertise. Previously an executive at Velocity, she cultivated and managed strategic relationships with key sponsors and CROs. She has a sustained record of promoting patient‑centric research practices and has played a hands‑on role in overseeing day‑to‑day clinical operations, at times serving as a sub‑investigator for clinical trials.
As the former President of Meridian Clinical Research, Laura directed operations at more than 30 sites across North America. In 2020, she oversaw Meridian’s operations as the company more than doubled its clinical and operational staff. To accommodate high‑volume trials and spikes in COVID‑19 vaccine interest, she led the implementation of a traveling oversight team, expanded staffing, instituted seven‑day clinic hours, and managed other strategic initiatives to scale operations.
In 2012, Laura was named Study Nurse of the Year at the PharmaTimes U.S. Clinical Researcher of the Year competition. Before Meridian, she practiced as a nurse at the Methodist Health System. She holds a B.A. in psychology and biology from the University of Virginia; a B.S. in nursing from Creighton University; an M.S. in adult acute care and a Post‑Master’s Certificate in family practice nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
