Luke Gelinas is Sr. Chair Director at Advarra. He is trained in Philosophy and Bioethics, with a PhD from the University of Toronto and a Postdoc at the NIH Clinical Center Department of Bioethics. Luke is interested in all areas of research ethics and has published both empirical and normative articles on topics including payment for research participation, research ethics of emerging technologies, protection and inclusion of vulnerable populations, and informed consent. He spends the bulk of his time with Advarra analyzing concrete ethical issues as they arise in the actual course of IRB review.
