Scott Sumner has over 25 years in the field of Compliance and Information Security, and has been Chief Information Security Officer at a number of famous brands, including Godiva Chocolatier, Pepperidge Farm, Direct Brands and Tory Burch. His career has been spent helping organizations make transitions through times of change. This includes acquisitions, spinoffs, startups and other fundamental shifts in business. Throughout these changes, he has strived to develop a balance between business goals and risk, in a clear, effective and transparent manner. This includes setting a 3-5 year strategy, with an eye toward evolving and holistic compliance, which protects the assets of the organization as well as the integrity of the brand itself. This has ranged from the development and implementation of Risk management programs, Payment Card Compliance, Consumer and Employee Privacy Programs, with elements of of policy, business process, governance and compliance throughout. The programs allow the business to demonstrate effective management of the shareholders trust, as well as proper custodians of the customers personal information and other assets. He has a number of certifications, including CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC and a number of other programs. He was a founding board member of Infragard Connecticut as well as the FS/ISAC.
