Sharon Smith, RN, BSN, CDCES is the Chief Operating Officer of MedEvidence!™, where she leads the development and delivery of high quality clinical research education for physicians, investigators, and research professionals. With a background in nursing, diabetes care and education, and clinical research operations, Sharon brings a patient centered, evidence driven perspective to advancing research excellence.
Throughout her career, Sharon has focused on strengthening investigator education, ethical research conduct, and patient safety across industry sponsored and investigator initiated trials. She has played a key role in designing and leading nationally attended training programs, including MedEvidence’s Clinical Research Training for Physicians, which has been widely praised by early career investigators for its practical, real world relevance.
As the COO of MedEivdence, Sharon leads initiatives to translate complex clinical insights into accessible, evidence-based educational content, including podcasts and presentations that help clarify “The Truth Behind the Data”. Prior to this role, she held significant leadership positions at the ENCORE Research Group, where she oversaw large-scale recruitment and clinical trial operations for nearly a decade.
As a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), Sharon has extensive experience translating complex scientific and regulatory concepts into accessible, meaningful education for both clinicians and patients. Her work emphasizes investigator independence, rigorous safety assessment, and the responsible generation of clinical evidence.
Sharon is passionate about improving the quality and credibility of clinical research through education, collaboration, and transparency, and she regularly engages with investigators, sponsors, and professional organizations to support these goals.
