The Site Excellence in Patient Inclusion Award honors a clinical research site that exemplifies a deep, ongoing commitment to ensuring trials reflect all communities. The recipient site leads with purpose, using novel strategies to engage underrepresented populations, enhance patient experiences, and promote clinical trial education. Through strong leadership, structured outreach, and measurable impact, they’ve built trust, improved access, and made a lasting difference in the health and lives of the communities they serve.

2025 Nominations

Nomination Criteria

Each complete submission will be evaluated against the following criteria by a panel of judges made up of SCRS IncluDE working group members. IncluDE Working Group Members from sites planning to submit nominations will be excluded from participating on the judging panel.  Scorecards will be provided to assist with this objective process.

 

Judging Criteria

Submissions will be asked to demonstrate how their organization has met the following:

1. Organizational Commitment – Clearly articulates a mission or strategy that prioritizes clinical research reflecting all communities, supported by leadership and integrated into site operations.

2. Community Engagement Strategy – Provides a structured and ongoing approach to engaging with underrepresented or underserved populations, including specific programs, outreach efforts, or collaborations.

3. Demonstrated Impact – Shares measurable outcomes (e.g., enrollment data, retention rates, outreach participation) showing increased representation in trials from broader patient populations.

4. Innovation and Distinction – Describes unique or creative strategies the site has implemented to engage a broader range of participants, and explains how these approaches differ from traditional methods or standard practices at other sites.

5. Sustained Progress and Learning Sustained Progress and Learning – Shows evidence of continuous improvement (e.g., year-over-year growth, lessons learned, revised strategies) in efforts to ensure research reflects all communities.

Requirements for Submission:

  1. be an active and current SCRS member in good standing
  2. be a site that enrolls patients in clinical trials
  3. complete and submit the nomination application in its entirety
  4. submit proof of SCRS Diversity Site Assessment Tool (DSAT) completion (please do not submit scores)

Award Recipients Receive: 

  1. An announcement of their recipiency of the award
  2. A trophy awarded at the event
  3. One (1) complimentary registration to the 2025 Global Site Solutions Summit
  4. An interview in an SCRS publication
  5. Participation in SCRS webinar to share best practices/learnings
