Alana Cormack is an experienced Clinical Research professional with extensive local and global Project Management experience.
As an Associate Director – CRA Manager she leads a team of CRAs across Australia and sits on the ANZ Leadership Team.
She is a passionate advocate for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Clinical Trials and firmly believes we need to know more in order to do better and that we should be open to feedback so as to refine ourselves, our behaviours and core beliefs.
In addition to her core role as CRA Manager, she also has taken on additional responsibilities within the wider MSD organisation as CLT (Country Leadership Team) Lead: coordinating and leading sessions with various members of the Country Leadership Team and employees to garner value insight on our Ways of Working to ensure everyone has a voice and is heard.
She also sits on the Reconciliation Action Plan leadership team and is a passionate advocate for the Women’s Network and Rainbow Alliance at MSD.
More recently she collaborated to develop an Internship Program aimed at University Graduates across the Asia Pacific region.
During lockdown Alana took on the role of Global Clinical Trials Organisation Social Media Lead and worked closely with the MSD External Affairs department to increase understanding and engagement with clinical trials to the wider public.
Alana has worked in the pharmaceutical industry since 2002. She has worked across all phases of clinical trials in various therapeutic areas & had worked in various leadership capacities in her current and previous organisations.
Her therapeutic area experience spans a large variety of disciplines but if she had to choose, Ophthalmology and Vaccine trials hold a special place in her heart!
