Aurelie Desgardin started her education in France where she earned a bioengineering degree in Food and Pharmaceutical Industry. After completing a BSc(Hons) in Applied Biology in the UK, she enrolled in a PhD program that allowed to complete her research in Molecular Biology in the US. First at St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Aurelie joined the University of Chicago in 2007. In 2017 she gained experience with complex studies and protocols as a clinical research coordinator within the Developmental Therapeutics program of the section of Hematology/Oncology. In Cincinatti she led the multidisciplinary GI Oncology program working closely with medical oncology, surgery, transplant and proton radiation teams. As the clinical research manager of the multidisciplinary GI Oncology program of the University of Chicago she has gained experience with clinical trials of neuroendocrine cancers thanks to the theragnostic program. The true meaning of collaboration and teamwork came to life with the recent successful launch of a 212Pb Theragnostic study. She hopes to repeat the experience with many more future studies in the space and support other institutions to do the same.
