Carolyn Stewart has been the Business and Operations Manager of the Melbourne Children’s Trials Centre (MCTC) since its launch in 2014. MCTC is a collaboration between The Royal Children’s Hospital, Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, and the University of Melbourne which brings together a variety of support for all types of paediatric clinical research including trials. Carolyn’s team support both commercially sponsored and investigator-initiated trials by providing leadership and advice in the design, set up and conduct of clinical trials. The Clinical Research Development Office team within MCTC provide regulatory and compliance support to researchers as well as develop and deliver training, standard operating procedures, guidance documents and standard templates for clinical research and trials.
Carolyn has been working in the clinical trials sector for more than 35 years. She holds a Master of Medical Sciences (Drug Development) and has broad experience having worked in the healthcare sector, pharmaceutical industry, phase I clinical research and in Medical Research Institutes. She has held a number of clinical, operational and management roles across these sectors and has experience in all phases of clinical trials in a broad range of therapeutic areas.
