Delphine Maillard is a Learning & Development leader with over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry. As Head of Clinical Learning & Development at Sanofi (New Jersey, USA), she leads a global function dedicated to building scientific, technical, and operational capabilities across the clinical development organization.
Her career began in 1997 as a Clinical Research Associate at Columbia Laboratories in Paris, monitoring Phase I and II clinical studies. In 2001, she joined Sanofi-Synthélabo as an International Clinical Trial Manager, overseeing global Phase II and III studies in cardiology and thrombosis across multiple geographies.
In 2006, she transitioned into Learning & Development at Sanofi-Aventis as a Training Manager, deploying worldwide training programs on GCP, Quality Documents, and clinical methodology. By 2013, based in New Jersey, she managed end-to-end L&D projects covering e-learning, instructor-led sessions, and clinical process training.
Since 2018, as Head of Global Clinical L&D, Delphine champions blended learning, digital innovation, and learner engagement — leveraging AI to create impactful learning experiences.
Since 2024, Delphine has brought the Study Training capability and system to a higher level with the implementation of a new Study Training system and the creation of the new Study Training Manager Role. She applies continuous improvement principles to her work, constantly seeking ways to enhance the effectiveness of learning experience and reduce training time for study teams and Site Staff.
Delphine holds a Bachelor’s in Health Engineering from the University of Pharmacy, Montpellier, France (1996). A fluent French and English speaker, she brings a global perspective shaped by years of international collaboration.
