George Havers

Director, Site Training

AES, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, UK

I’ve been in this industry for more than 25 years starting as a CRA in pharma and then moving to a CRO and most recently as Director of Training for a large site network. I have a background in clinical research operations and learning and development. I hold a Combined Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Genetics and French, a Post Grad certification in Applied Medical Statistics, certifications in Project Management (PMP Certified), Change Management and am an ASQ Green Belt certified Lean Six Sigma process improvement practitioner. My achievements have been recognized by winning multiple awards internally and externally including Training Magazine Emerging Training Leader and Outstanding Training Initiative Award.

I am known for being a passionate and dedicated leader who is a highly-effective communicator and driver of strategic change.

I am also passionate about coaching and developing others and am an open, caring and compassionate leader. I am an empathetic listener and strive to put people first in any project, ensuring that I include a diverse and representative team and recognize everyone’s individual contributions.
I seek in others that same passion for their work, that are patient-centric coupled with a desire and mindset to learn and grow. I value people who take ownership of their deliverables and take pride in their work. I consider it is my role as a learning and development professional to create a safe environment where site staff can own their career, feel inspired to take on new challenges, ask for guidance but also learn independently so they can become highly-effective and successful in their lives.
