A medical doctor and serial health technology entrepreneur, Hugo has spent more than 25 years building companies that support clinical research. Following the acquisition of his late phase CRO, Health Research Solutions, by Quintiles in 2003, he established and led Quintiles’ global Late Phase business through 2011. He later co-founded DrugDev, which was acquired by IQVIA, and Induction Healthcare, whose digital health platforms are now used extensively across the UK NHS.
Having seen firsthand that many patients who could benefit from clinical trials are never connected with them, Hugo founded TrialScreen to help bridge the gap between community healthcare and clinical research around the world. TrialScreen works with sponsors, CROs, research sites and patient communities to identify potential participants earlier and improve access to clinical trials, with the goal of accelerating recruitment and expanding opportunities for people to participate in research.
