Ignacio Lopez Leavy, MPH, is an anthropologist and healthcare researcher with over five years of experience conducting health research across academic, public sector, and industry settings. Currently he serves as an Insight & Research Specialist at Syneos Health, where he supports qualitative and quantitative research studies.
With a background that bridges public health and medical anthropology, Ignacio brings a multidisciplinary perspective to healthcare research. He is particularly interested in understanding how social, cultural, environmental, and institutional factors shape health outcomes, healthcare experiences, and access to care. Throughout his academic and professional career, he has conducted qualitative interviews, focus groups, ethnographic studies, surveys, and policy evaluations, combining quantitative evidence with qualitative insights.
Ignacio’s research career began at the University of Buenos Aires, where he contributed to an ethnographic study exploring healthcare access and care-seeking strategies among transgender women in Argentina. He later participated in a multi-institutional study investigating environmental health inequalities and access to healthcare among underserved communities in the Buenos Aires metropolitan area. His subsequent work included research at the Italian Hospital of Buenos Aires examining environmental health education in medical curricula and sustainability initiatives within healthcare institutions, as well as a Public Health Research Fellowship at the Ministry of Health of Buenos Aires, where he assessed medical residency program regulations and healthcare professional training conditions.
His work is driven by a commitment to generating meaningful insights that support more equitable and patient-centered healthcare systems.
