For LATAM sites exploring growth, two distinct models offer compelling pathways: site management organizations (SMOs) and site networks. This session examines both, drawing on firsthand experience from LATAM leaders who have navigated each model, so sites can make informed decisions about which path aligns with their goals, capacity, and market context.

Mexico, Colombia, and Peru represent three of Latin America’s most compelling growth markets in clinical research. Mexico and Colombia share large, diverse, and largely treatment-naïve populations with high patient motivation, and both have regulatory bodies — COFEPRIS and INVIMA, respectively — actively modernizing to reduce approval timelines and increase predictability. Peru adds a distinct dimension: a highly diverse patient population, a steadily strengthening regulatory authority in DIGEMID, and growing Phase 2–3 opportunity that is placing the country on sponsor shortlists as a high-value complement to more established markets. Together, these countries represent a reform-driven, population-rich corridor with significant upside for sites positioned to capitalize on it.
