Linda Brown brings more than twenty years’ experience across governance, strategy, and clinical research. She joined Safer Care Victoria in February 2024 as Director of Research, Clinical Trials, and Strategic Initiatives, where she leads the Research, Strategy and Clinical Trials team.
In this role, Linda has responsibility for the statewide platform for human research ethics, oversees delivery of the Department of Health’s Translational Research Priorities PhD Fellowship program, and leads the Australian Teletrials Program in Victoria. She also provides oversight of a range of strategic initiatives, including the statewide clinical resources hub.
Linda represents Victoria on the Inter Governmental Policy Reform Group, contributing to national reforms aimed at strengthening and streamlining the health and medical research regulatory and operating environment. She is widely recognised for her ability to engage effectively with stakeholders, researchers and investigators across Australia and internationally, and is strongly committed to supporting the health and medical research sector to improve patient outcomes and build a sustainable pipeline of investment.
Prior to joining Safer Care Victoria, Linda was National Manager of two national member based clinical trial collaboratives. Earlier in her career, she spent seven years with a chartered accounting firm, where she worked within a specialist health team providing business consulting, risk management and internal audit services.
