Ms Linda Cristine, BA, EMPA, MBE
Linda Cristine is at the forefront of delivering the National One Stop Shop for health and medical research, bringing a wealth of leadership experience to the role since joining the department in 2024. With a distinguished career as a senior executive in both the Victorian and New South Wales Departments of Health and Human Services, Linda has demonstrated a strong commitment to driving innovation in public health. Previously, she served for more than a decade as Director of Medical Research for Victoria, where she led transformative initiatives and significant policy reforms.
Linda’s foundation in research and evaluation is complemented by an impressive academic background, holding a Masters of Bioethics, an Executive Master of Public Administration, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. Her passion lies in championing evidence-based policy reform and making complex concepts accessible and engaging for all audiences.
An accomplished educator, Linda has lectured in Health Policy and Planning at the University of Sydney, guiding post-graduate students in health planning, research, and evaluation. She has also contributed as a lecturer and tutor at the University of Western Sydney and has been a regular guest lecturer at the World Health Organisation Collaborating Centre for Environmental Health, as well as at Monash and Melbourne Universities, where she is recognised as a valued industry partner.
Most recently, Linda provided strategic leadership for the Victorian Government’s health and medical research agendas across the Department of Health and the Department of Jobs, Precincts, Industry and Regions. She played a pivotal role in reforming clinical trial policy in Victoria and collaborated nationally with colleagues through the Intergovernmental Policy Reform Group to advance clinical trial reforms. Linda’s expertise and dedication make her a driving force in shaping the future of health and medical research in Australia.
