Marta León Montagut is Senior Vice President, Site Activation Center of Excellence at Parexel. In this role, she leads and oversees a cross-functional team of highly skilled professionals who work collaboratively on the development and implementation of comprehensive country and site strategies that accelerate study start-up and optimize patient recruitment in clinical trials. Through effective leadership and collaboration within these teams, Marta ensures the seamless integration of key functional areas—including site selection, country strategy, and patient targeting—to support successful study launches and enable Parexel’s customers to meet their enrollment objectives.
Marta has over 22 years of experience in the healthcare sector and throughout her career she has exhibited exceptional leadership skills and a strong track record of driving successful clinical trial activations for pharmaceutical companies around the globe. She possesses a unique blend of scientific knowledge, commercial acumen, and strategic thinking, making her an invaluable asset in the world of clinical research and drug development.
Prior to joining Parexel in May 2020, Marta held various senior leadership positions with clinical research organizations and pharma companies, where she led cross-functional teams and fostered strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, healthcare providers, and site networks.
Marta’s commitment to innovation and continuous improvement is evident in her dedication to staying at the forefront of industry trends and best practices in site activation and study start-up. She actively collaborates with thought leaders, and consistently seeks opportunities to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of country and site strategies.
Marta has a Bachelor’s in Biology, majoring in Biotechnology, from the University of Barcelona. She also holds a Master’s in Clinical Monitoring.
