Dr Nally has been a GP Partner at Wansford Surgery for 30 years, stepping down in September 2024. A Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners, she was a GP Trainer for 22 years and spent many years as Older People’s Lead for Cambridgeshire, developing Multidisciplinary Team Working across Primary and Secondary Care, Community Services, and Third Sector Organisations.
During her time at Wansford, the Practice doubled in size to 10,500 patients. She played a key role in bringing a Pharmacy and a Primary Care Research Unit to the Health Campus. Her Research career began as a Sub-Investigator and gained momentum during the Novavax Trial in 2020, a pivotal moment in the global public health response. As part of the team awarded Royal College of General Practitioners Research Practice of the Year in 2019, she has since served as Principal Investigator on studies into areas such as infectious disease vaccines including COVID-19, urinary tract infection, cancer screening, and atrial fibrillation. She has worked as a Research Mentor developing capacity in the primary care research workforce.
She served as Research Lead for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Integrated Care Board 2021-2024 and is an active member of the Vaccine Innovation Forum UK.
As Director of the Wansford Research Team, she leads the development of a Hub and Spoke model with three other central Peterborough GP practices, expanding research access to a diverse population of 90,000 patients across over 100 language groups.
She is also a Director of Greater Peterborough Network, the city’s Primary Care Federation, delivering community services at scale such as Virtual Ward and Call Before You Convey which has reduced ambulance conveyances from community to hospital by 70%. Until recently a South Peterborough Primary Care Network Board member, she remains its Clinical Lead.
Her career is now increasingly focused on Research.
